Halloween is in full swing as the candy aisles become depleted, costumes fly off the racks, and festive decor lines the front porches of homes across metro Atlanta. Our Heritage at Kennesaw Mountain community is in a prime location for families to explore the various festivals and events happening in and around the Kennesaw area. If you’ve already purchased, or are interested in touring one of the homes in this community, we want to let you know about some of the best Halloween events taking place nearby.
Halloween JamBooree
When: Saturday, October 28 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Where: Logan Farm Park
Admission: Free; ticket purchase for carnival games
Logan Farm Park, a short 20-minute drive from Heritage at Kennesaw Mountain, is located in Acworth, GA. On October 28, bring your entire family out to enjoy an afternoon filled with your favorite carnival games and activities and a costume contest. This year’s Halloween Jambooree will also feature a free hayride. The local Cub Scout Pack 611 will be hosting their annual Scouting for Food Program at the event. Bring a nonperishable food item to donate, and you will receive 5 free game tickets per child in your family.
Owl-O-Ween
When: Friday, October 27 6:00 pm – 11:00 pm; Saturday, October 28 4:00 pm – 11:00 pm
Where: Kennesaw State University Sports and Entertainment Park
Admission: $14 for adults; $6 for children ages 3-12
Head to Kennesaw State University’s Sports and Entertainment Park on October 27th and 28th for the 5th annual Owl-O-Ween, Atlanta’s largest hot air balloon festival and costume party. Activities for the whole family include live entertainment on multiple stages, tethered balloon rides, and photo opportunities. Adults will be sure to enjoy the merchant marketplace and artist alley, while the kids will have a blast at the trick-or-treating stations and an interactive kids zone. With the variety of food trucks and a giant food court that you’ll have access to for this event, there will be no shortage of tasty treats to keep the family energized and refreshed all night long.
Haunted Springs
When: Fridays and Saturdays in October 8:00 pm – 10:30 pm
Where: Seven Springs Museum
Admission: $18 for adults; $10 for children ages 6-12
If your family is on the prowl for an eerie adventure, Haunted Springs is the perfect Halloween activity! Starting at the Seven Springs Museum, you will walk through the lamp-lighted streets of Powder Springs, GA after dark. As you learn the history behind each location throughout the city, you’ll also learn of the haunting experiences locals and ghost hunters alike have experienced here. New for this year’s tour, you’ll have the opportunity to interact with the spirits using the latest ghost hunting devices. If you’re curious about the paranormal, this is one experience you won’t want to pass up.
